Oncology Massage Therapy
Gentle, compassionate massage adapted to the needs of people affected by cancer
Oncology Massage is a specialised, adapted form of massage for people living with cancer, undergoing treatment or recovering following cancer treatment. Rather than using a standard massage routine, the treatment is carefully modified according to the individual’s health, treatment history, symptoms, energy levels and current medical circumstances.
A Treatment Adapted Around You
Before treatment, your practitioner will discuss relevant aspects of your health and cancer treatment.
Do I Need Medical Approval?
Some people can receive appropriately adapted massage safely, while others may require advice or clearance from their oncology or medical team.
Where there is uncertainty regarding your suitability for treatment, we may ask you to obtain medical guidance before your appointment. Your safety always takes priority over proceeding with treatment.
What Happens During Your Appointment?
Your appointment begins with an appropriate health consultation.
The massage itself is gentle and adapted according to your comfort, energy level and current circumstances. Positioning can also be adjusted to ensure that you remain comfortable throughout your session.
Privacy and dignity are maintainbed at all times.
